This shed and building site were purchased from an estate.
A paint shop had been located here. In 1974, the industrial buildings partially burnt down, causing soil and groundwater contamination.
The heirs did not have the time or energy to handle the remediation themselves, among others because no one in the family was still active in the buildings.
Santerra assumed the costs of the study, and purchased the buildings.
The VOC contamination was treated with modern on-site techniques. Bacteria and nutrients were injected into the ground, which broke down the chlorinated solvents into harmless substances.
This made it possible for future users to make use of the grounds without problems.
